A video surfacing about UFC’s Chief, Dana White supposedly striking his wife on New Year’s has recently gotten quite popular taking the attention of fans and fighters alike.

The video was published by TMZ showcasing Dana white and his Wife Anne White causing a scene in a club in New Mexico. The two were seen supposedly arguing against each other when Anne suddenly struck Dana in the face with a slap, Dana, in response struck his wife two times immediately after.

“I’m in Cabo, Mexico, for the holidays with my family and my wife and I were out with family on New Year’s Eve, and unfortunately that’s what happened,” White told TMZ. “I’m one of the guys, you heard me say for years: There’s never, ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman. And now here I am on TMZ talking about it. My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years. We’ve known each other since we were almost 12 years old. We’ve obviously been through some s— together and we’ve got three kids, and this is one of those situations that’s horrible.”

Dana White addresses his regrets and concerns, which his main concerns are his family and his reputation among the UFC community.

“I’m embarrassed, but it’s also one of those situations where we’re more concerned about our kids. We have three kids, and obviously since the video popped up, we’ve shown the kids the video and we’re more focused on our family right now. People are going to have their opinions on this. Most of the people’s opinions will be right — especially in my case. You don’t put your hands on a woman ever. My wife and I obviously love each other. We’ve been together for a very long time. We’ve known each other since we were very little, and this is just one of those unfortunate situations.”

White states “definitely a lot of alcohol” and anything said about him was “deserved”.

Anne White, the wife of dana has also released a statement regarding the situation.

“Dana and I have been married for almost 30 years. To say this is out of character for him is an understatement — nothing like this has ever happened before. Unfortunately, we were both drinking too much on New Year’s Eve and things got out of control, on both sides. We’ve talked this through as a family and apologized to each other. I just hope people will respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.”

Dana white continues to regard the situation with the following:

“Here’s my punishment: I have to walk around for however long I live – and this is how I’m labeled now,” he said. “My other punishment is that I’m sure a lot of people – whether it be media, fighters, friends, acquaintances – who had respect for me might not have respect for me now. There’s a lot of things I have to deal with the rest of my life that’s way more of a punishment than, what, I take a 30-day or 60-day absence?”

Many fighters among the UFC have some things to say about Dana White and his actions, some serious responses and some others poke fun.

When I was suspended for 9 months for weed, I think the better punishment would have been known as a weed user. That’s the punishment commissioners being known as a weed user, I have to live with that the rest of my life,” said Ramsey Nijem, former UFC and MMA fighter in a Tweet.

“When I was suspended from winning bonuses for 3 fights for cursing at the crowd and wrecking a hotel room, I think the better punishment would have been to be known as a crowd cursing hotel wrecker 😂,” says Al LaQuinta, former UFC fighter and MMA fighter.

On a more serious note, however, some fighters have complaints about what could’ve happened before, and the lack of his punishment.

“No way this the first time he’s hit her or her hitting him. They both reacted with zero hesitation as if they’ve done it before,” says Corey ‘Overtime’ Anderson, former UFC fighter and MMA fighter.

Trash. But sadly, nothing will happen.” Deron Winn
