Recently, Kanye has been caught up in controversy for wearing a white lives matter shirt at Yeezy fashion show, along with other things. Critics have claimed Kanye has been saying dangerous and hateful things that can hurt his career and reputation.  

This scandal started at Yeezy fashion, happened in Paris. Kanye and Candace Owens, the conservative commenter shared a photo of them wearing the same shirt that says White Lives Matter, the Fox News.  

Kanye did not stop at the fashion show. He continued to give out those shirts at an abandoned corner of LA and tell the homeless that White Lives Matter. He also said in an interview with Fox that “The answer to why I wrote White Lives Matter on a shirt is because they do! It’s the obvious thing.” 

After this event, brands that Kanye been working with and released many collections with, Adidas, Gap, Balenciaga and Vogue had decided to end their business relationships with him. The MNS stated “Ye had a net worth of about $2 billion, according to Forbes estimate. Ye’s partnership with Adidas was valued at $1.5 billion, but after the retail company severed ties with the rapper, his net worth fell to $400 million,” Forbes said.  

Adidas claimed that Ye’s statement is dangerous and hateful. Which can hurt Adidas and his career at the same time. The German sportswear company said it “does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness,” Newsweek said.  

Before this, he has also bragged about he is a billionaire with a net worth of about $2 billion. After Adidas ended things his net worth dropped rapidly. To add more to that, he also posted a tweet saying “The funny thing is I can’t really be anti-Semitic because blacks are Jews too. You guys have fooled me and tried to eliminate anyone who opposes your agenda.” The media think this is just another excuse of Kanye to adding hate to the Jewish community without sounding like it.  

Kim Kardashian, Kanye’s ex-wife, finally broke her silence. Obviously, she wasn’t there to back him up but to say that she stands with the Jews community, and they have all her support. Kim highlighted, “Hate speech is never right nor it excusable. I support the Jewish community and call for the horrible violence and hateful rhetoric towards them to end immediately.” 

This messy event has not only brought Kanye’s reputation down alone but also lose his net worth. Especially trust, with everyone else.
