1964 to 1966 Lisa Loring the first Wednesday to live action. 

“American actress Lisa Loring was in charge of the first-ever Wednesday’s live-action portrayal. The actress portrayed the Addams girl from 1964 to 1966, between the ages of six and eight,” said Andrea Sandoval, a writer for CBR. 

How does this Wednesday really contribute to her family, what are some of her qualities? 

“She’s very cute, quite the optimistic sweetie, and not nearly as “unconventional” as the rest of her family. Make no mistake, though. She’s quite odd in many ways with her love for spiders and headless dolls. In the show, she’s notably younger than her brother Pugsley and almost makes outsiders believe that the family is normal,” said Tai Gooden a writer for Nerdist. 

The 1973 cartoon version only appeared after a crossover in another popular show at the time. 

“Henderson’s Wednesday didn’t debut in The Addams Family. Instead, she appeared in the episode “Scooby-Doo Meets the Addams Family/Wednesday is Missing” in The New Scooby-Doo Movies. Only truly hardcore fans know about this incredible vintage crossover, which led the Addams family to get their own show,” Sandoval said. 

Does the show have all the chilling features that everyone loves? 

“The first cartoon adaptation of The Addams Family lacks the chilling charm of the live-action TV show. The dark humor and environment of the TV show, produced by Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, were toned down for a younger audience.” said Lee Escobedo a writer for EW. 

 Christina Ricci’s portrayal of Wednesday in the 1993 film is way scarier than the 1973 version. 

“Ricci’s portrayal of Wednesday is probably the most canonical depiction of the character and the most accurate one considering the cartoons. She’s deadpan, morbidly violent, and all in all scarier,” Sandoval said. 

Wednesday is played by Ricci but who are the other characters played by? What’s the plot like? 

“The storyline focuses on Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd). Following the birth of a new Addams baby, Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman) try their best to eliminate the new baby while under the watchful eye of a nanny, Debbie (Joan Cusack). When Fester falls in love and marries Debbie, the family soon realizes her gold-digging ways and tries to save Fester,” said a writer for Collider. 

Of Course there’s the newest Wednesday made in 2022 which is a defendant fan favorite even though there’s only 8 episodes. 

“Netflix original series Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams from “The Addams Family,” again topped Nielsen’s weekly chart of the top 10 programs streamed across household televisions. The series tallied more than 3.3 billion minutes across eight episodes for the week ended Dec. 11.” said Writer for media play news. 

Does the cast add anything to the show? 

“The newest adaptation of the Addams clan focuses on the eldest child, Wednesday, this time played by Scream‘s Jenna Ortega. By casting the Hispanic Ortega and Luis Guzmán as Gomez, the show connects the family to their supposed Spanish origin, which has long been debated (The family’s Spanish ancestry was even hinted at in the episode “Art and the Addams Family” on the original black-and-white TV series),” Escobedo said.
